Minjie Deng

Ph.D. candidate in Economics

Welcome! I am a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the University of Rochester. I study topics in International Macroeconomics.

My job market paper Inequality, Taxation, and Sovereign Default Risk studies how does domestic heterogeneity contribute to the government default risk, where I develop a framework to study government defaultable debt and progressive taxation in a heterogeneous-household context. My previous work Migration and Sovereign Default Risk studies the role of international migration in a sovereign debt crisis. My ongoing project studies the role of firms' debt maturity in the transmission of monetary policy shocks.
